'Oscar the Shih Tzu' came to visit

Our dear friend, Sylvia and her best mate 'Oscar have just been to visit for a couple of days; And as always, they were welcomed with open arms.

Oscar is the most gorgeous little chap and true to his breed, he is Sylvia's constant companion and the love of her life. Like me, she was always much more inclined to be a 'Big Dog' person but, six years ago, things changed. The cutest little bundle of fur was put into her arms and with one look into those big dark eyes, Sylvia was hooked. Oscar just found the home that he had been looking for!

Back in 2005, Oscar gave Sylvia the unconditional love and companionship that was required when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and their bond strengthened as he continued to be with her every day through her journey. This little dog gave her the help, strength, love and hope that she needed on her road to recovery. When Sylvia's health permitted, they walk every day, regardless of the weather and because they lived close to the beach, romping through the sand was always great fun. Today, it makes my 'heart sing' as I watch them head off, together, for their daily walk!

Our beloved dogs give us their heart and soul in a blink, and all they ask is to be loved. Our friend Sylvia is, a true, inspiration because she never gave up on her future, and her little mate Oscar never gave up on her. He was, and will always be, by her side!
