Best choice I ever made.....

Australian (Red) Cattle Dog - Lucy Girl
Seeing an ACD for the very first time several years ago...I was mesmerized and began reading and learning as much as I could about the breed. It was overwhelming all of the information I gathered. I wanted this breed so much. Having yorkies most of my adult life...I wasn't sure I should do this.
It is a huge responsibility to have a dog in general, but, an ACD is on an even larger scale. They need a lot of attention and activity because, they're a working dog.
I thought about it for a good year and made the decision this breed is what I want. I started pursuing finding this dog in my area. It was no easy task.
After another 8 months I finally found someone who raised ACD's. They just had a litter of 7 pups...2 white, 4 blues and 1 red. I went to meet these 8 weekers and just got tired watching them. I was watching them run and roll and play and I felt a lump at my feet and looked down to see the sweetest red ACD ..laying on her back ....tail in mouth and big brown eyes smiling up at me. That was it ....I was completely in love and comfortable with my decision to get this breed.
That was 3 years ago...and my crazy red head...."Lucy Girl" is the best dog I could have ever imagined.
I love all my dogs but Lucy is just something so special I can't put into words. She makes me laugh ...my heart smiles as I watch her try to figure things out. She has touched many people with her silly antics and her charming personality. I can't imagine my life without her.
Everything is true that I read about this breed and the things that scared me the most at first about getting her are what i love the most about her. She is a busy busy girl...and loves to figure things out and keep active.
It is not a decision to make on a whim, that is for sure...but I would do it all again without question. What a magnificent breed!!
I LOVE LUCY!!Comment from site owner...
